Our room is called the rehabilitative room. It is divided into a space for rest and relaxation and a space for eating and for group activities at the table. The rehabilitative classroom has a teacher and is adapted for individual instruction. The pupils are looked after by two teachers from the Zahrada Integration Center, Jana and Pavel, and one special education teacher (who is also the classroom teacher) from the Zahrádka Primary School, Ludmila. Also working with the pupils are our colleagues from the Integration Center – physical therapists, ergotherapists, a hippotherapist, and more. The school’s special education teachers also help out during music therapy and basal stimulation. A real treat in our shared space is the presence of Pavel’s dog Pip.
Each pupil has an individual education plan put together by educators from both institutions. Each individual education plan defines the pupil’s schedule – individual learning (reasoning, communication, sensory education, etc.), group learning (art, home economics, music, etc.), physical therapy, ergotherapy, music therapy, hippotherapy, canine therapy, hydrotherapy, harmonizing bed, and more. Socialization and integration are vitally important (visiting other classroom, going on nearby walks, field trips, outdoor education).
