Project day “A Christmas Story” (8 December 2020)

On 8 December 2020, our school held a project day on the subject of the biblical Christmas story of the birth of Jesus and the entire coming holiday season. We were visited by actors from the Studna Theatre, with whom we talked about the story they had come to perform for us. The pupils could also inspect the actors’ puppets, props, and costumes. We all made tea with the children, spicing it with Christmas herbs so that the room smelled nice. Afterwards, we were treated to a theater performance in the garden with the titled “A Christmas Story.”

The performance included Christmas carols. After the performance, we went back to our classroom to make Christmas cards with nativity scenes on them. These were collages, with the kids cutting, pasting, and using various spices, so the cards smelled nice, too. The pupils from the other classes could watch the theater performance on an iPad, since it was streamed online.
